“Sometimes the best treatments take time and maintenance, but in a 140 character-based world, sometimes we want a little more instant gratification. Once applied, this nourishing serum gets to work, reviving damaged, colored, and all-around unmanageable hair without weighing it down—for a smooth, shiny Instagram-worthy finish.” -Birchbox
I am super excited about this hair serum! My hair is ombred at the ends and I need that extra protection and nourishment to keep them from feeling like straw. The size of this sample is very large and will definitely last me through quite a few treatments.
“Just as Avène has tapped into the Sainte-Odile spring, they’ve also tapped into a wealth of knowledge about hydration. They were able to pack a high concentration of thermal spring water into this powerful, paraben-free serum, providing long-lasting hydration to soothe dehydrated and sensitive skin. This serum enhances the effectiveness of any moisturizer or treatment product you choose to apply next.” -Birchbox
This is another serum I am super excited about. I’m not typically able to afford high end skin care on a regular basis, so when I get great skin care samples it excites me! I tend to have more oily skin so I don’t seem to need a whole lot of hydration, but sometimes hydrating serums can help balance the skin, so I’m really excited to see what this does for my skin.
“Few things excite us more than getting a shiny new shadow palette. The only downsides? Not knowing the best way to coordinate shades, and not being able to fit our favorite hues in our clutch. The pros at Coastal Scents fixed these conundrums with these handy mini-palettes. Designed with specific scenarios in mind, these exquisite color collections feature perfectly complementary shades in purse-friendly sizes. The socialEYES palette comes with beautiful, deep neutrals for everyday looks, the formalEYES palette offers lovely nudes and rosy pinks for a big night out, and the glamourEYES collection boasts gorgeous, bold colors for special occasions (or any time you crave a little va-va-voom). Bonus: Each comes with a mirror for on-the-go touch ups.” -Birchbox
I always love getting eyeshadows, and these coastal scents ones are no exception! I got a light nuetral color as well as a medium shimmery pink, and I’m very excited to see them in action. I’ll let you guys know how I feel about these after I’ve used them a bit in the future.
“Klorane’s dry shampoo is such a star, were convinced it deserves its own spot on the Hollywood Beauty Walk of Fame. The longtime choice of celebs like Gwyneth Paltrow and Diane Kruger, its been praised for its versatility as a grease buster, volumizer, and waterless cleanser (no wonder it snagged Allure’s Best of Beauty Award). Made with softening oat milk extracts, plus corn and rice starches, this ultrafine powder spray leaves nary a trace of residue behind. It performs a heroic array of functions: It soaks up oil and sweat from your roots and helps revive second day hair, amps up volume and helps extend the life of blowouts, and can be used as a texturing aide when you’re trying to perfect a tricky updo.” -Birchbox
Dry shampoo samples for me are a blessing! I like to go a couple days between washing my hair to keep it healthy and strong. However, sometimes on those later days, my hair just wont cooperate. Enter Dry Shampoo! These samples are also great for travel so you don’t have to put a whole huge can of dry shampoo in your travel bag. This was quite possibly the winning sample of the box!
“Slathering on sunscreen can seem more like a chore than a proper primping ritual, but COOLA’s standout facial tint has us (gasp) actually looking forward to applying SPF. Made with 70 percent organic ingredients, including plenty of free radical–fighting antioxidants, the silky, nongreasy formula dries down to a matte finish (and does so without an overpowering scent!). Two skin-safe mineral sunblocks—titanium and zinc dioxide—are suspended in a moisturizing base to ensure a smooth, even application, and the subtle beige tint evens out skin tone and masks flaws. Shea butter naturally softens skin. Works best for light to medium complexions.” – Birchbox
This is actually a very interesting product. It is a sheerly tinted moisturizer; however, it feels like a silicone primer. It has the soft feeling of those pore blurring primers, and it makes me wonder if part of the sheerness is made up for in pore blurring capabilities. I’m really excited to try this one out, and can’t wait to see what it is capable of!
Overall I think this was a really great box! I got some great products that I will definitely use. All of the samples were a really decent size and I will get multiple uses out of all of them! If you want to see this box in action, check out my Birchbox Unboxing for December 2015 or watch below:
